NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations is looking for an exceptional product and design thinker to become our VP of Product Management and Design, reporting to the SVP of Digital Media. This is an important, hands-on leadership role for someone looking to create innovative digital products in a successful and growing organization.
In this role, you will work with leaders in editorial, marketing, engineering, sales and business development to help define the future vision of our products and implement a roadmap that brings that vision to reality. You will manage a team of highly skilled product managers and designers who are focused on creating best-in-class products for our English and Spanish speaking audiences.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer-led design, technology and news (particularly local) and is a collaborative, problem-solving leader with a knack for nurturing talented individuals and creating fun and challenging work environments.
+ Work collaboratively with other members of the executive leadership team to define and prioritize new product expansion opportunities.
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams in developing product concepts and strategies; evaluate and recommend build, partner, buy alternatives; and work with key stakeholders to map out execution plans
+ Build scalable design and product development processes using principles of Agile
+ Develop and coordinate a comprehensive pipeline of new product and enhancement opportunities across the organization.
+ Manage the product development process, from ideation and scoping to execution and launch across all distribution platforms to ensure on time, on scope and on budget launch of products initiatives.
+ Work with outside vendors to ensure quality of product-related services
+ Manage the P&L for the product management and design group; and ensure adequate resourcing to meet approved business plans within approved budgets
+ Identify and implement internal and external toolsets that will aid in the development of user experience deliverables
+ Bring shape, structure, and metrics to the design and product development process
+ Evangelize our work internally, to customers, and to the public
+ Recruit, mentor and develop strong product and design teams
+ 10+ years of experience working with design teams on products with complex user interfaces
+ Passion for understanding audiences and their behavior
+ Proven ability to successfully bring creative new products to market, on-time and on-budget
+ Focus on data as a key element to understanding of experience success
+ Extraordinary business judgment, team management, communication and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to create a compelling and consistent visual system that can be applied across brands
