The Multi Media Investigator focuses on challenging, investigative news story content for live broadcast, station website(s) and all current and future media platforms. The investigative stories should be highly promotable and be on task with the news brand. The Multi Media Investigator assists in daily news coverage with investigative leads and follow-up story coverage. In addition, the Multi-Media Investigator:
- Assists with web content design and web posting
- Shoots stills and moving video of their news material
- Performs engaging stand-ups or live shots as necessary and/or assigned
- Strategically engages in social media
Essential Job Functions
55% - Generates, researches, develops, produces and reports investigative stories, series and specials for various newscasts.
35% - Assists with targeted and investigative angles on daily news coverage
5% - Develops and maintains strong contact relationships
5% - Strategically engages in Social Media. Assists with web content design and web posting.
All must be met to be considered.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Broadcasting or related field, or equivalent training, and/or experience. High School degree required.
Three to five years as a television reporter with extensive experience in investigative reporting in television, newspaper, or magazine.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of undercover reporting - legal, journalism, ethical issue, strong writing, iNews, and AVID.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to produce high quality investigative news stories across all content platforms
Ability to shoot and edit in a newsroom or field environment
Ability to multi task and manage short and long-term projects
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Strong on-air presence
Must possess ability to meet deadlines.
Must possess ability to carry 40-100 lbs
Must have valid Driver's license
