Job Description

Hearst Television seeks a Digital National Sales Manager responsible for direct sales to agencies, brands, and other demand sources.  Hearst Television publishes a diverse range of digital video content across a network of local broadcast properties.  This position is primarily responsible for generating revenue from national advertisers against all digital original video content.  The position also collaborates heavily with HTV’s digital-only studio, and other Hearst business units, in order to create unique sponsorship opportunities for our valued clients.   Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven and thrives in a goal-oriented environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build creative packages using HTV digital products
  • Prospect, contact and present solutions to generate new advertising revenue
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on sponsored and native video products
  • Form strategic business and market partnerships
  • Manage inventory to protect rate/yield management
  • Oversee the fulfillment/optimization of campaigns, in collaboration with other departments
  • Provide regular reporting to clients, management
  • Light travel may be required, domestic only

Required Skills

  • Fundamental sales skills, from prospecting to presenting and negotiating
  • Must have experience selling sponsored/native video into national agencies/brands.
  • Ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, and take pride in being extremely well-organized and prepared
  • Current knowledge of digital ad technology; ad serving (DFP), reporting metrics, audience targeting, etc.
  • A strong work ethic, collaborative style, and sharp communication skills are essential for this position

Required Experience

Hearst TV seeks dynamic candidates who possess a strong digital background, preferably with expertise from the buy-side (agencies/advertisers), other digital publishers, and/or related tech platforms.

  • Relevant sales experience (3 years minimum, 5 years preferred)
  • Must have a proven track record in the cultivation and execution of new business/non-traditional business
  • Must have strong relationships with buyers of digital sponsorships and native content at the major national agencies and brands
  • Experience in a consultative, customer-focused business atmosphere
